Scorpio New Moon

This month’s New Moon occurs on the 1st of November at 11:17 PM ACDT, at 9 degrees of Scorpio. In traditional astrology, Scorpio is considered in its “fall,” meaning the Moon’s expression is weakened. The Moon, which governs our emotions, safety, and sense of security, struggles with Scorpio’s deep, intense, transformative energy, known for its ability to pull the rug out from under us suddenly. My Moon sits in Scorpio in my natal chart. The energy has been incredibly intense for me over the last couple of days. Deeply buried emotions are coming to the surface, and while I don’t fully understand this energy yet, I know that what is emerging has been suppressed deep within my psyche and carried for many lifetimes. I am being gentle with myself, allowing the time to hold space for myself and to let the release happen.

With Saturn the planet of karma, time, and responsibility in a supportive trine to the Moon, this New Moon offers a powerful moment to take ownership of hidden truths within ourselves and others. This New Moon is ruled by Mars (traditional) and Pluto (modern), both currently in a tense opposition at 29 degrees the critical “Anaretic degree.” This degree highlights the need to resolve issues once and for all and embrace transformation. During this period, you may experience intense themes related to Pluto and Mars energy, which can bring unresolved struggles around power, control, suppressed anger, issues or hidden fears, and truths to the surface to balance.
